Obituary

Mary Curtiss passed away at home with her family Thursday, February 8, 2007 after a short illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Chapel of faith church, 2604 North Jefferson, Indianola. Visitation will be held at the church Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Burial will take place at the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery immediately following the services.

Mary was born August 17, 1925 in New Hampton, Missouri to Robert and Bernice Watts. Mary was a graduate of Maryville Missouri teachers college. She was joined in marriage to Harold W. Curtiss after he returned from WWII. They moved to Indianola in the early 1950's. Mary worked in Indianola at various places including the City of Indianola, Warren County Brenton Bank and Cozad Insurance Agency from which she retired.

Mary enjoyed her family and her friends; she truly enjoyed traveling around Iowa to watch all of her children and grandchildren in their sporting activities. She enjoyed playing games, cards and bowling. She loved to travel to visit family.

Mary is survived by her children, DeAnn Robinson (Duane Robinson) and Robert Curtiss (Rebecca Curtiss) both of Indianola; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren; brother-in-law of Kansas City; and 2 sisters-in-law, one in Denver and one in Kansas City; and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold (Curt); her parents; 1 brother and 1 sister.
