It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Beautiful Mother, Mary Barbara Church (Jones), who passed peacefully at home on August 21, 2021.

Barbara was a devoted and loving wife of 51 years to Larry Dean Church, who proceeded her in death in 2019. She was a loving mother to Jacqueline Church (John Owens) Angela Church and doting Nana to Anthony, Reece and William.

Barbara was born on April 6, 1944 in Chariton, Iowa to Elmer "Casey" and Mary Jones. Barbara married Larry Dean Church on July 3, 1968 and made their home in Indianola, Iowa for 20 years before moving to Des Moines, Iowa.

Barbara was an amazing artist and a fantastic cook but her true passion was taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Church; parents, Elmer and Mary Jones; and her sister, Catherine "Kay" Brewer.

We want to send a very special thank you to her hospice team - Angi, Rachel, Emily, Morgan, Julie, Stacy and Dana. She loved them all and was always so excited to see their beautiful faces walk through the door.

A private family burial will take place as Barbara has requested no visitaton or funeral services. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to your favorite charity in Barbara's memory.
