MARY JANE BLAKE-BRANDT Indianola Mary Jane (Blake) Brandt peacefully died at the age of 57, July 27, 2013. Except for her brief time spent in Florida and Hawaii, Mary raised her son Tim Blake (33, Grand Junction, CO) in Indianola, IA. Mary was an accomplished secretary and accountant who finished her career with Cemen Tech. Mary's granddaughter, Grace (6, Grand Junction, CO) was the love of her life and Mary delighted in sending Grace surprise gift packages of fancy clothes and dress-up jewelry. Mary's dog Buffy was her faithful companion. Before passing, Mary felt joyful she was able to find a wonderful, loving home for her beloved pet. Mary Jane was born to Kenneth and Yoshiko Blake in Tokyo, Japan, November 28, 1955 where she resided until her parents, her brother Robert "Bob" Blake (Denver, CO) and sister Deborah "Debbie" L' Estrange (Chillicothe, MO) returned to the States. Preceding Mary in death was her husband, Vernon "Buddy" Brandt; parents, Kenneth and Yoshiko Blake; grandparents, Eldon Floyd and Angie Elizabeth (Howe) Blake; and brother-in-law, Joseph "Joe" L'Estrange. Survivors include nieces, Kendra Blake, Kacie Blake, Samantha L'Estrange; nephew, JC L'Estrange; aunt, Mary (Cole) Blake; and a large family of cousins and friends. Visitation, with family present, will be held 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA. Burial of the ashes will follow in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
