Private family services for Mary K. Bittinger, 88, who died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society of Indianola, will be held at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Mary is survived by her children, Kay (Jack) Huffman of Indianola, Jerry (Lynn) Bittinger of Alta Monte Springs, FL, Sue (Ron) VanVleet of Carlisle, Don (Cindy) Bittinger of Des Moines; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; sisters, Ann Goodwin of Lubbock, TX and Pearle Rurtlage of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shorty Bittinger, six brothers and 4 sisters. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Central Iowa, Knoxville.
