Born in Carrollton, MO, Martin had lived in Carlisle for the last 20 years. He was a crane operator for Local #234 in Des Moines retiring in September of 1999 after 33 years. He enjoyed hunting, football and NASCAR. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2099 in Carlisle.

He is survived by his sons, Dan (Connie) of Swan, Lanny of Carlisle, Ron of Branson, MO; daughter, Kelly (Mike) Garmon of Carlisle; sisters, Patsy Bettelyoun of Hot Springs, SD, Margaret Bedwell of Midland, TX and Jessie Bartlett of Colfax; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 3 – 8 p.m., Friday, January 26 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the V.F.W. Post #2099 in Carlisle.
