Funeral services for Martin Edward Bown, 90, of Indianola, Iowa, who passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Taylor House in Des Moines, will be held 2 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services from Noon to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.

Martin is survived by his wife Lorraine; children, Fred (Joan) Bown, Terri (Terry) Cross and Lori (Darren) Reed; grandchildren, Dionne (Aaron) Ackelson, Jacqui (Ryan) Robinson, Deidra (Dustin) Miller, Jennifer (Joe) Walljasper, Jeremy (Kimberly) Cross, Devin (Jessica) Reed and Heather Reed; great-grandchildren, Shane, Jacob and Wesley Ackelson, Morgan and Justin Robinson, Allie, Abbey and Ashden Miller, Cole, Max and McCartney Walljasper, Brooklyn and Ethan Cross, Karter Carruthers and Kaden Beller; and brother-in-law Robert Johnson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtle Bown; siblings, Billy Gillis and Betty Johnson; and great-grandson Harrison Walljasper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Martin to Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
