MARK WILLIAM PENDGRAFT Indianola Memorial services for Mark W. Pendgraft, 48, who passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16 at the Indianola First United Methodist Church. Private burial of cremains will be in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mark was born February 22, 1967 in Dubuque, Iowa and adopted by William Henry and Mary Katherine (Wires) Pendgraft at five days old. He attended Indianola Public Schools, was elected into the National Honor Society, kept stats for various sports, and graduated in 1985. Mark continued his education at Simpson College in Indianola majoring in Math Education. While there he was elected to Who's Who. He taught Math in various places until his health began to fail. Mark enjoyed working with young people and had worked for the Indianola Parks and Recreational Department through high school and college. Survivors include his parents, Bill and Mary Kay Pendgraft; sister, Brenda (Jon) Finley; nephew, Travis McCoy; nieces, Amy McCoy, Brianna Johnson, Caitlyn Finley and Abigail Finley. He was preceded in death by his sister Diane Witte, grandparents, aunts and cousins. Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 15 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be given in his name to Mercy Hospice, Indianola Parks and Recreation or Hillcrest Children's Services.
