Mass of Christian Burial for Marjorie Marie Wonderlin who died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, May 7, 2011 at her home in Winterset, Iowa, will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 11 at Church of Assumption Catholic Church in Churchville, Iowa. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Churchville. "Margie" was born August 16, 1923 in Adel, Iowa. She was married to Wilbert Wonderlin on November 4, 1942 and they lived on a farm near Prole, Iowa, where they had seven children. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption Catholic Church until the family moved to Florida in 1974. She was active in her church as a minister to the sick, and visiting church members who were shut ins or residents at the local nursing homes. Margie moved to Winterset in 2008. She enjoyed gardening and most especially loved spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert; daughter, Sharon Labertew; son, Roger Wonderlin; granddaughter, Julia Kading; sister, Olivia Findley; and brothers, Denver and Flonnie Findley. Survivors include sons, Charles, Sherman and Michael Wonderlin; daughters, Teresa Kading and Patricia Donahue; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 10 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. A Rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the Salvation Army.
