Marjorie Aileen Strable, 89, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at home in Prole, Iowa. A Graveside Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, at Blair Chapel Cemetery, St. Charles.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Pat (Diana) Strable, Sherry Strable; grandchildren, Jennifer L’Estrange, Eric Strable, Jennifer (Tony) Wieland; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Murphy, Nancy Brown, Helen Clark, Eldon Chittenden, Bill Chittenden, Ray (Kay) Chittenden, Art (Sandra) Chittenden; son-in-law, Kent Davenport; brother-in-law, John Groth; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; daughter, Kelly Davenport; grandchild, Caleb Strable; niece, Julie Junker; nephew, Brian Newhouse; daughter-in-law, Cindi Strable; parents, Frank and Helen Chittenden; siblings, Kathy Wilson, Francis “Whitey” Chittenden; parents-in-law, Carl and Mae Strable; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Virgil) Newhouse, Sara Sue Groth; and brother-in-law, Frank (Sylvia) Strable.

Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials in memory of Marjorie can be made to the Alzheimer's Association Iowa Chapter.
