Services for Marjorie Sorensen, 86, formerly of St. Charles and Indianola, who died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone, IA, will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 15, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in the Linn Grove Cemetery, Prole, IA. Visitation will be held from 2 – 6 p.m., Sunday, May 14 at the funeral home where family will be present to greet friends from 3 – 6 p.m.

Marjorie was born near Ruthven, IA, January 13, 1920 and was united in marriage to Stanley Sorensen. They farmed near Indianola and St. Charles. She retired from the Iowa Department of Public Safety as an accountant and was a member of the Martensdale Community Church. Marjorie enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley of Boone; three daughters, Pat (LaVerne) Middleswart of Dike, Nancy (Paul) Mead of Lacona, and Mary (Mark) Halbmaier of Boone; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanne Corwin; and two brothers, Byron (Mary Ann) Brown and Richard (Reba) Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and one granddaughter, Micaela Halbmaier.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, Evangelical Free Home or American Diabetes Association.
