Obituary

Funeral services for Marjorie M. Hadley, 85, who died Saturday, January 22, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center following a stroke, will be held Tuesday, January 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Overton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Liberty Center Cemetery.

Born near Liberty Center, Iowa, had been an Indianola resident for thirty years. She was an elementary school teacher and had taught in Indianola at Emerson Elementry School. She previously taught in Lacona and country schools.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was active in the Chapel of Faith Church.

Surviving are her brother Neil Heemstra and his wife Marilyn of Milo, Iowa; two sisters, Lois Lawyer and Ramona Butler and her husband Walter, both of Indianola; two sisters-in law, Eleanor Heemstra and Edith Heemstra, both of rural Liberty Center, Iowa; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kemp, and 4 brothers, Merrill, John, Orlan, and Harold.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will be present 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Eastern Star Service at 7:45 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel of Faith Church.
