Obituary

Marjorie L. Barnes was born November 7, 1916 near Milo and died October 12, 2005 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the Milo Christian Union Church with burial at Belmont Cemetery in Milo, of which she was a trustee.

Marjorie worked for Younkers and the Town and Country Veterinary Clinic before retiring due to a stroke. She will be remembered for her ability to connect with her many nieces and nephews and her strong work ethic. She didn't walk. . . She ran.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Preston; grandson, David M.A.; brothers, Junior and Richard Wright; and sister, Fern Bales. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Kerry) Kaldenberg of Milo; grandsons, Jeff Knight of Milo and Eric Knight of Otley; great-grandchildren, Dorie and Brandon Knight of Milo; sister, Mildred Risinger of Indianola; and brother, James K. Wright of Milo.

Friends may call from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 14 at the Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, where the family will be present from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Milo Fire and Rescue or the Milo Library.
