Marilyn Ferne Perry was born June 6, 1933 in Lacona, Iowa to John and Elsie Marsh. She lived with her parents in Palmyra, Iowa on the family farm.
She attended Hartford High School until she was united in marriage to Keith Perry to which they had 4 children, Linda, Kris, Tami and Bryan. She was employed at Dr. Trueblood, Cornish and Porter for a time before she was hired on by Peoples Bank where she was a supervisor over the tellers for many years.
She enjoyed camping, cooking but most of all she loved being amongst her family. Holidays at her house were always a highlight to her family. She was involved in the Indianola Chamber and helped establish the first “Dickens of a Christmas”. She was a Charter Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran church, where she was involved with the choir and planning of the new church.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Linda (Steve) Flattery, Kris Foland, Bryan (Deb) Perry, Tami Perry; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Perry; brother, Lyle Marsh; brother-in-law, Philip Perry; son-in-law, Dan Foland.
Marilyn Ferne Perry, 93, of Indianola passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, July 4, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2026, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Indianola, with inurnment to follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Indianola. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to service at the church.
The family would like to express gratitude for the exceptional care that the staff at WestView Care Center provided to Marilyn during her time at the facility.
Memorial contributions to may be made to Westview Care Center in Indianola or the Mt. Calvary Church in Marilyn’s memory.
