MARIETTA BOWLES Indianola Marietta Littler Bowles was born July 19, 1923 in Dayton, Ohio. Marietta is preceded in death by her parents, Esther (Schmidt) Littler and Owen E. Littler, and her husband, Glenn Reno Bowles. She is survived by her son, Glenn (Sue) Bowles II; three daughters, Jeanne Bowles, Patricia (George) Macomber, and Dorothy Blansit; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two sisters, Janet Hardin of Dayton, OH and Joan Ketzel of Biloxi, MS. Marietta was known for her beautiful soprano voice. A soloist in every church choir, she was privileged to sing for the Skylarks in Washington D.C. in the 1970's. Marietta was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, who will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Inurnment of cremains will be in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
