Marian Sinclair, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at The Village Senior Living Community in Indianola, at the age of 93. Services will be held 3:30 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., prior to services on Friday, October 25 at the church.
Marian Rae Rasmussen was born December 19, 1930, in Cottonwood County, Minnesota, to Peter and Marvel Grunig Rasmussen. Marian was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Jeffers, Minnesota.
On December 11, 1950, she married the love of her life, Neale Alexander Sinclair of Wabasso, Minnesota. They were married for 72 years. Marian loved music, dancing, reading a good romance novel, and providing day care. She also enjoyed volunteering at church and at the Helping Hand Thrift Store for more than 25 years. Neale and Marian spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona.
Family was most important to Marian. Neale and Marian were blessed with three children: Gail (Todd) Rauen, Byron, Minnesota; Gary (DeeAnn) Sinclair, Indianola, Iowa; and Steven (Roxanne) Sinclair, Kasson, Minnesota.
Marian also is survived by her eight grandchildren: Michelle (Troy) Shulze and Jessica (Randy) Robinson, both of Dodge Center, Minnesota; Kelly Lewis and Megan (Mike) Tiano of Indianola, Iowa; Jasmine, Nik, and Tia Sinclair of Byron, Minnesota; and Jade (Chad) Nager of Lakewood, Colorado. Neale and Marian were blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Her brother Harlan (Pat) Rasmussen, sisters Glennis Pearson and Sharon (Tom) Yager also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Marvel; husband, Neale; infant brother, Roland; and brothers, Robert (Esther) Rasmussen, Alan (Barbara) Rasmussen, Dan (Diane) Rasmussen, Marvin Rasmussen; and sisters, Joy Kosel and Glee Kosel.
Memorials may be given to The Good Shepherd Fund at The Village, WesleyLife Foundation, 5508 NW 88 Street, Johnston, Iowa, 50131.
