MARIAN E. REEVES Indianola Services for Marian Elaine Reeves, 86, who died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 25, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with visitation held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Sandyville Cemetery. Marian was born February 25, 1925 in Clarke County, the daughter of Ross and Alta Gamble. She attended Osceola Community School; moved to Indianola in 1943; and married Sam Reeves on April 21, 1945. To this union six children were born. Marian worked through the years at the Maid Rite, Johns Restaurant, Dairy, Sweet and Simpson College. She worked for Dahl's Store in Des Moines retiring in 1984 after 17 years as manager over the Dahl's Store Restaurant. Marian moved to the Candleridge Apartments in Indianola in 2004 where she made many friends and enjoyed spending time with them playing cards, visiting and sharing pot luck dinners. Survivors include her six children, Catherine Jean (Dan) Sutton-Pettyjohn, David (Donna) Reeves, Nancy (Ivan) Terpstra, Larry (Bev) Reeves, Janie (Chuck) Bell and Mike (Brenda) Reeves; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Reeves; parents, Ross and Alta Gamble; sisters, Edrie Lansing and Anita McBee; and brother-in-law, Marvin Fuller. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa. The family would like to thank the kind staff of Hospice and Good Samaritan for taking such good care of their mother.
