A Celebration of Life Service for Marian Dooley, 94, of Indianola, who passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home.  Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Marian was born on February 19, 1930. She was the first born of fraternal twins of John and Ethel Hunt. Her brother, Oral Milton, was born a few minutes after her. Their birth place was on the family farm just outside of Bronson, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Indianola High School in 1949. On May 28, 1950 she married Eugene Dooley and raised their 5 children, until Eugene's death in 1989. Over many years she provided day care to many families in Indianola as well as a number of her grandchildren. She married Wilbur Dooley on April 18, 1998 and moved to Lancaster, Missouri where she lived until his death in 2007. She then moved back to Indianola to be close to her children and grandchildren that lived there. Starting in 2018, she enjoyed splitting her time between the homes of her daughter, Diane, in Indianola and her son, Rodney, in Indiana.

Marian also had another love besides her children & many grandchildren. This love was her Dachshund, Trudi, who went with her everywhere.  She was called Grandma Trudi by some of her great grandkids. She later had a Pomeranian, Tasha, that would not leave her side.

Marian is survived by her children, Gene (Cindy) Dooley, Sandra Petersen, Gary (Jeanne) Dooley, Diane (Randy) Hypes and Rod (Vicky) Dooley; 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Carol Hunt.  She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Dooley and husband Wilbur Dooley; parents John and Ethel (Lindsay) Hunt; twin brother Oral "Milton" Hunt, brother John Hunt and grandson Jason Dooley.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home.  Memorials in memory of Marian may be given to Hospice of The Midwest or Kiya Koda Humane Society.
