Services for Margaret Mossberg, 100, who passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 10 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola. Private burial will be held in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines.
Born at home in Des Moines on May 5, 1917. She attended Roosevelt High School. Margaret worked as the bookkeeper for Cownie Furs. LeRoy H. Mossberg and Margaret Louise Stover were united in marriage on September 7, 1940. They moved to Indianola, Iowa in 1952 where they built a house in which she was able to reside in until 3 weeks ago. They both were very active members in the Trinity United Presbyterian Church serving in many capacities. Margaret also served as the secretary for her church for ten years. Her interests included reading, card playing, word puzzles, and most importantly, family and friends. She was very active for all of her 100 years attending coffee club, Presbyterian Women, P.E.O., Kensington, and Sewing Club.
Survivors include her children, Doug (Ann) Mossberg, Craig (Carol) Mossberg, Kristine Nielsen and Julia (Tim) Messamer; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and brother, Byron Stover. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Mossberg; son-in-law Duane Nielsen and two siblings.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given in her name to Trinity United Presbyterian Church or Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
