Services for Margaret L. Lillie, who died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in Urbandale, will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 6 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Born in Shelby Iowa on January 28, 1921 to Carl and Artie (O'neal) Hill, Margaret graduated from the Indianola High School in 1939. She worked for AVON for 18 years winning many distinct prizes, and worked for the state for 8 years. Margaret was married to John Michener for 27 and one half years and together they had three sons; Jerry Leonard Michener, Dennis Dwight Michener, and John Douglas Michener. Following, Margaret was remarried for 26 years to Frank D. Lillie. She Moved to Urbandale on December 5, 2009. Margaret enjoyed going to Rutledge, MO for the flea market, fishing, camping with friends, and selling crafts for over 20 years. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, her son Jerry Michener, and three siblings Beulah Bair, Opal Norman, and Albert Hill. She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Pat) and John (Pat) Michener; and one grandson, Jerrid Michener. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 5 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Des Moines Ronald McDonald House or the Alzheimers Association.
