Indianola

An amazing woman entered heaven Monday, April 3rd.  Margaret Friesen, 101, died peacefully with family by her side at the Indianola Village Health Center.

Mrs. Friesen was born in Los Angeles, CA.  She served in ministry with her husband, Leland, as he pastored Baptist churches in Oregon, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Minnesota, Washington and Louisiana prior to moving to Indianola in 1993.

To know Margaret was to love her.  All who knew her were touched by her kindness, inspired by her zest for life as well as warmed by her smile and gracious manner. She was a devoted wife, caring mother, loyal friend, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Margaret was greatly loved and will be missed.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Larry Friesen and his wife Judith of Mounds View, MN; two daughters-in-law, Sandy Friesen, Ogden, IA and Sandra Friesen, Chino, CA; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; sons, Stan, Charles and Roger; and brother, John Galt.

Her family will receive friends for a Memorial Visitation from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 7, at The Village. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, April 8, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Ogden, IA. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sioux Falls Seminary - Leland and Margaret Friesen Scholarship Fund or the Indianola Village Good Shepherd Fund.
