Marcus Robert Cooney passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at UnityPoint Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.  A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.

Marcus is survived by his children, Bobby Cooney, Mandy Cooney and Sally Cooney; companion, Nell Utsler; step-daughter, Megan Utsler; grandchildren, Michael, Isaac, Jacob, Noah, Ava, Mason, Addy, Eden and Teegan; siblings Denny, Pat, Ronnie Cooney and Teresa Lizotte.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth (Karr) Cooney, daughter, Michelle Griffiths.
