Services for Marcia Lynne Kafar, 60, who passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024 in Indianola, Iowa, will be held 11 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2024, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with visitation held prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m.  Cremation will follow services.

Marcia was born August 4, 1963 in Dubuque, Iowa. Marcia served over 15 years in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged.  Following her discharge she attended Clarke College in Dubuque. She is survived by two sisters, Linda (Mark) Cook and Anita (Jay) Ancel; two brothers, Kent and David Kafar; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and a spouse Mary Mulholland-Kafar. She is preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Kenneth Kafar who are buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Special thanks to Mandra (Kafar) Carlsen for her unwavering love, care, and devotion to Marcia after her stroke. The family would also like to extend their extreme gratitude to everyone at the Good Samaritan Society and Suncrest Hospice for their care for Marcia.

Burial arrangements are pending for a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Those considering an expression of sympathy may direct memorials, in Marcia's name, to the non-profit organization Cris Healthy Aging, 309 N. Franklin St., Danville, IL 61832, the facility who protected and advocated for her.
