MACK E. STROVERS

Memorial services for Mack Eugene Strovers, 86, who passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Indianola, will be held 3 p.m., September 3 at the First Baptist Church in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mack was born on April 11, 1930 in Indianola, Iowa to Harry Eugene and Jeanetta (Reynolds) Strovers. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1948 and was united in marriage to Helen Rhoades on February 14, 1960.

Mack enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, and traveling. He was involved with scouting for over 20 years with Indianola Troop # 124, serving as Scoutmaster for part of those years. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church for 80 years and loved to tell stories.

He is survived his wife of 56 years, Helen; sons, David (Cindy) Strovers of Omaha, NE, James Strovers of Cedar Rapids, John (Shirley) Strovers of Bridgeport, WV, and Robert (Laura) Strovers of Indianola; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Jeanetta Strovers and two sisters, Velma Strovers and Hattie Putz; grandson, Matthew David Strovers; and his first wife, Catherine.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.  Memorials may be given to the family in his name to the First Baptist Church.
