Lyle Westerly, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 7, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center after a short illness.  Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Lyle was born October 6, 1924 in rural Lucas Co. IA. to Sam and Zola Westerly.  He graduated from Indianola High School and was a Navy Veteran of World War II.  On June 1, 1947 he was united in marriage to Janice Manley.  Lyle had joined the Baptist Church as a youth and was a long time farmer, enjoying reading, all sports and especially spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Leonard.  He is survived by his wife Janice.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6 – 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.  Memorial contributions may be given to Chapel of Faith or the Indianola Fire & Rescue Department.
