Memorial services for Lydia Grace Grate, 97, who passed away Monday, April 3, 2006 at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines, will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 5 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Grace was born in Sandyville and worked for 39 years for Northwestern Bell retiring as chief operator. She was a member of Park Avenue Presbyterian Church and the Telephone Pioneer Club.

She is survived by her nephew, Harvey (Edna) Simmerman of Hubbard; nieces, Sue (Clifford) Sorbo of Newton, Dixie (James) Gebhart of Des Moines, Vivian (Gaylord) Sorbo of Northwood; sister-in-law, Cora Green of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Cox in 1955 and second husband Theron Grate in 1973, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Memorials may be given Park Avenue Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.
