Obituary

LUCILLE M. RODGERS Derby, Kansas Lucille M. Rodgers passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 peacefully in her sleep after a short illness at the age of 95. She was born Lucille Mildred Buckingham at home near Lineville, IA on December 9, 1918 to Charles Irwin and Fanny Edith Buckingham. Lucille married Earnest Lee Rodgers on December 9, 1944, making a home on a farm first in the Rosemount community and finally at the Motor community of Milo, IA. Two children were born to that union, LeRoy Charles Rodgers and Sheryl Ann Rodgers. She remained on the farm until 2002 when she went to live with her daughter in Kansas. She was baptized into the New Zion Church at Allerton, IA in her youth and later in adulthood attended the Motor Friends Church, after moving to Kansas she enjoyed televised services. Lucille is survived by her son, LeRoy and his wife Carole of Milo and his daughter, Renate Geters of Arkansas, granddaughter, Rochelle Geters of Florida and great-granddaughter, Kamylia of Florida; her daughter, Heather and husband, Chris, and their son, Hunter Talbot of Milo; and daughter, Sheryl of Kansas. She was preceded in death by her only sister, Betty Nadine Rose (1977); husband, Earnest (1979); and her parents, Charles (1989) and Edith (1987) Buckingham. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, May 3 in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 2 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.overtonfunerals.com.
