Loren Mervyn Proudfit, 98, passed from this life on August 12, 2007, at Windsor Manor in Indianola. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial at Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Loren was born near Ivy, Iowa, to Manley Jay & Mary Alma Dawson Proudfit on August 6, 1909. Loren was a retired long-time farmer in the Indianola area and a member of the Church of Christ for many years.

He is survived by a daughter Marlene (Al) Bown of Brighton, IL, a son Duane (Mary) Proudfit of Indianola, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, one son Ronald, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, at Overton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
