Lonita was born in Des Moines, Iowa and had lived in Summerset all her adult life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and collecting angels. She loved dogs and cats.

She is survived by her husband, Terry of Summerset; step children, Jeff Gentry and Tina Sapp both of Indianola; 3 step grandchildren, Brook Allan, Colby Gentry and Tiffany Schreiner; mother, Verna Thomas of Indianola; and sisters, Karen Dorsett of Indianola and Linda Shahan of Cedar Falls.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services on Thursday, February 28 at Overton Funeral Home where the family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be given to the family in her name.
