A Celebration of Life Gathering for Lois Ruth Needles, 94, of Indianola, who passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, will be held 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Lois Ruth Needles was born to Grover Streeter and Ruth Hickman on August 3, 1930.  She grew up in the Indianola area and graduated from Indianola High School in 1947.  She met her husband P.J. at the Maid Rite in Indianola and they were married on her seventeenth birthday August 3, 1947 in Chariton.  To this union two daughters were born, Teresa and Renee.

P. J. and Lois spent their retirement years living in Melrose at Lake Rathbun.  They wintered in Arizona until P.J.'s health started to decline.   They sold their place at Rathbun and returned to Indianola to be close to family.  Shortly after P.J.'s death, Lois moved to Windsor Manor where she met many new friends.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Mike) Crabb and Renee (Bob) Hunget; four grandsons, Alex (Tonya) and Joe (Dana) Crabb, and Jake (Jeena) and Luke (Donna) Hunget: nine great-grandchildren, Jack (fka Keely) and Tory Crabb, Mikey and Joey Crabb, Sophie and Carter Hunget, Graylie and Kenna Hunget, and Alexus Wools.  She is also survived by her special friend she referred to as her 'adopted' daughter, Karina. She was preceded in death by her husband P.J., her parents, sister Betty King, and brother Dale Streeter.

We are forever grateful to all of the Staff at Windsor Manor and Suncrest Hospice for the love and care given to our mom.  She loved you all.
