Obituary

Funeral services for Lois Butcher, 87, who died Monday, December 26, 2005, at Windsor Manor in Indianola, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 31, at the Overton Funeral Home. Burial will follow services in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens, Indianola.

Born in Madison County, Iowa, she had been an Indianola resident since 1961. She had worked as a cook for Mercy Hospital in Des Moines for twenty years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1996 and two daughters, Mary Ellen who died in infancy and Betty Dykstra.

Surviving are two sons, Marion (Cathy) Butcher of Indianola and Robert Eivins of Cambron, Missouri; two daughters Shirley Reason of Altoona and Barbara Schmidtke (Norm) of Lewisville, TX; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 2 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be designated the American Cancer Society.
