Lois Radene Bowlin, daughter of Clarence and Maude (Means) Hull was born at home in Monroe County on August 17, 1928 and passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at age 88.

Lois received her education in Russell, Iowa and graduated from Simpson College with a teacher's certificate. She was united in marriage to Robert Bowlin in 1948 in Indianola and to this union were born five children; Tom, David, Joyce, Gary and Jim.

Lois worked at Library Binding and Iowa Fiber in Des Moines. She enjoyed working with Bob on the farm raising Registered Hereford cows. She loved making quilts for her children and grandchildren. Gardening, canning, and raising chickens were her hobbies and she enjoyed being a member of the Medford Ladies Aid.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bowlin; parents, Clarence and Maude Hull; five brothers, Sylvan, Russell, Delbert, Wilbur and Dale Hull. Lois leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tom (Dixie), David (Cindy) Bowlin, Joyce (Mike) Miller, Gary (Debbie) and Jim (Diane) Bowlin; sister, Avene Nolte; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2017 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola IOOF Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 1 at Overton Funeral Home with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.  Memorials may be made to Warren County Fair.
