IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linn
Tuttle
September 3, 1949 – January 6, 2026
Linn Tuttle, 76, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 2026. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her strength, adventurous spirit, and boundless love for her family.
Linn was born in Boone, Iowa, and graduated from Des Moines Roosevelt High School. As the oldest of twelve siblings, she embraced life surrounded by joyful chaos and carried that love of family with her throughout her life.
After having a family of her own, Linn moved to Colorado, where she worked as a machinist at Hach Chemical. She took great pride in her work and in being a woman thriving in a male-dominated industry. Once her boys graduated from high school, Linn returned to school herself, earning a degree in Hospitality Management from Front Range Community College. She went on to open a catering company and always held a dream of opening her own bed and breakfast, a dream that reflected her love of people, comfort, and connection.
Linn was very active in her church where she found joy in service and fellowship. She loved traveling, picnics, and especially spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her laughter, determination, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Linn is survived by her sons, Aaron (Tara) Strain; Cort (Treva) Strain; grandchildren, Parker (Gentry) Strain, Bailey (Yezid) Valarezo, Lauren Strain, Camden Strain, Emersen Strain, Jenna Strain, Luke Strain, Carter Strain, and Jackson Strain; great-grandchildren, Santi Valarezo and Valentina Valarezo; daughter-in-law, Danielle Strain; siblings, Mark (Cindy) Tuttle, Janet Thatcher, Barb (Kelly) O'Brien, Brian (Julie) Tuttle, Jason (Helen) Tuttle, Julie Tuttle, Tom (Cheryl) Tuttle, Matt (Peg) Tuttle, Carrie (Eric) Wolfe, and Jamie (Keriann) Tuttle; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bart Strain, and her brother, Andrew Tuttle.
A Celebration of Life honoring Linn will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 807 N. 15th Street, Indianola, Iowa. Refreshments will be available as family and friends gather to share memories and celebrate a life well lived.
