Linda D. McGrew, 55, passed away at her home in Indianola, Iowa on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Linda was born on August 5, 1968, in Des Moines, Iowa to Jerald and Janice (Berry) Mills.  She attended Southeast Polk High School and received a Medical Transcription Degree from DMACC. Linda grew up in Runnells and moved to Indianola in 1986, where she raised her two sons. Linda worked diligently as a medical transcriptionist for 27 years at Mercy Hospital and Conifer Health Solutions.

Linda was unique, authentic, and unafraid to speak her mind. She had an unwavering faith in God, an exceptional ability to listen, was a strong advocate for those in need, and could bring humor to any situation. She was known for her kind heart and was a devoted mother and Nana. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was excited about her yearly Christmas shopping trip with two close friends. Her positive impact on those around her was immeasurable. Linda's spirit will forever be cherished and remembered. Her legacy will continue to live on through the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband, Kirk Baker; children, Christopher McGrew; Jacob (Nichoelle) McGrew; Drake (Brittany) Baker; Parker (Cheyenne) Baker, Kassie Baker; Jenna Baker; and Christa Baker; sisters, Diane (Doug) Carroll and Karen (Loren) Moon; grandchildren, Cayden Humble; Kaylee McGrew; Keetyn McGrew, Brinlynn McGrew; Adilynn McGrew; Jerald McGrew; Domonic DeBrouse; Leo DeBrouse; Willie Baker; and Millie Baker; along with several nephews; nieces; great-nephews; and great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerald and Janice Mills; brother, James Mills; nephew, Mathew Carroll; and great-nephew, Mason Carroll.

Visitation to be held at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, Iowa, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Funeral will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Berean Assembly of God. In Pleasant Hill, Iowa, at 10:00 a.m. with burial following in the Lowman Cemetery, Runnells, Iowa.
