IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Kay
Essick
August 14, 1955 – September 3, 2023
Linda Essick, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 8, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Des Moines. Visitation will be held prior to service from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Born on August 14th, 1955, Linda was a compassionate and loving soul who dedicated her life to caring for her loved ones. She married the love of her life, Richard Essick, and together they shared an incredible journey spanning 43 beautiful years of marriage.
Linda's greatest joy in life came from being a devoted mother to her three sons. She took immense pride in raising them and instilled in them the values of love, respect, and kindness. Her sons, Aaron, Craig, and Mike Stout, will forever cherish the precious memories they made together and carry her legacy forward.
As a doting grandmother, Linda played an essential role in the lives of her six grandchildren. Whether it was attending their school events, cheering them on during sports competitions, or simply showering them with unconditional love, she always made sure they felt cherished and supported.
Her love extended well beyond her grandchildren, as Linda had numerous great-grandchildren who held a special place in her heart. Each one brought immeasurable happiness and joy to her life, and she embraced the role of being a great-grandparent with open arms.
In addition to being a loving matriarch, Linda was admired for her warm nature, and genuine kindness. She had a knack for making everyone around her feel special, and her positive presence brightened countless lives.
Linda's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were touched by her love.
Rest in peace, dear Linda Essick. You will be cherished and missed always.
