Services for Lillian Faye Williams, 94, who passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Indianola, will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola, with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to service from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the church.
Lillian was born on January 9, 1932, in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Mary (Sowder) Mercer. She was a 1950 graduate of Winterset High School.
On September 7, 1952, Lillian married her high school sweetheart, Harold Wayne Williams and together they shared 62 years of marriage. Their first home was a dairy farm near Patterson, Iowa. Side by side they cared for chickens and milked 16-20 cows twice daily. Their farm was flooded in 1960, which led them to reside in Indianola.
Lillian worked for Warren County Farm Bureau for over 32 years. After retirement, she kept her mind sharp as she listened to talk radio and FOX news. Lillian enjoyed coffee, gardening, camping, cooking, and caring for her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Dawn (Rick) Ackerson; daughter-in-law, Kathy Williams; seven grandchildren, Kelly (Jessica) Williams, Leah (Kristopher) Wesley, Courtney (Daniel) Ackerson, Ashley (Jason Verba) Ackerson, Amy Williams, Jessica (Jason) Ackerson Anania, Ian Ackerson; seven great-grandchildren, Kaleb Williams, Adelyn Williams, Libbie Verba, Logan Mayer, Norah Wesley, Jacklyn Anania and Jameson Anania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; two sons, Dennis and Daryl; parents, Glen and Mary Mercer; and two brothers, Merle Mercer and Carl Mercer.
Memorials in memory of Lillian may be given to Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola or Kiya Koda Humane Society.
