Lea Ann Singer-Goodrich, 71, of Indianola, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at home, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 25 at the Indianola Community Church in Indianola. Burial will follow services in the IOOF Cemetery, Indianola, IA. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 24 at Overton Funeral Home, where family will be present to greet friends.
Lea was skilled in horsemanship, showing a deep love and understanding of horses. She had a profound affection for animals, likely extending beyond horses to a broader range of creatures. Lea worked as a nurse, demonstrating her dedication to caring for others' well-being. As an educator, she likely had a positive impact on the lives of many students, sharing her knowledge and inspiring them. She loved using her expertise in mental health care, both for adults and adolescents. Helping people navigate their emotional and psychological challenges. She took on the significant roles of a mother and wife, nurturing and caring for her family. Lea had meaningful relationships with her extended family, being an aunt, sister and supportive sibling. Her role as a caretaker extended to both her professional and personal life, showcasing her caring nature. Spirituality played a significant part in her life, and it provided her with strength and guidance. She had accomplished 42 years of sobriety and personal growth, inspiring others on her own journey. Lea had a talent for playing the flute, showcasing her artistic and expressive abilities. She enjoyed competitive gaming, particularly playing Cribbage, bringing joy and bonding with friends and family members. Her creative side was expressed through her artistry in drawing and painting. Lea Singer-Goodrich's life journey exemplifies a rich and fulfilling existence filled with diverse experiences and accomplishments. Her passion for helping others, artistic expression, and love for animals and family are inspiring attributes that have left a positive impact on those around her.
Lea is survived by her husband, Daniel; children, Jon Hartle, Teisha Hartle; siblings, Bill Singer, Sandy Singer, Julie Singer, Tom (Jean) Singer; in-laws, Dewey and Sheryl Goodrich, Mary E. Pratt, Kristine Harmon, Antoinette King; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Dora Singer; father-in-law, Terry Pratt.
