Funeral service for Lawrence William Flinn, who died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at Overton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Indianola, IA. Lawrence lived most of his live in Warren County. He enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing and singing with the Happy Notes. He worked for Bookey Pack in Des Moines and for the Des Moines Community Schools. He is survived by his wife, Goldie; sons, Douglas (Sheila) Myers of Des Moines, IA, Larry Flinn of Albuquerque, NM, John Flinn of Indianola,James Flinn of Indianola, and David (Debbie) Flinn of Indianola; son-in-law, Donald Clatt of Indianola; 13 grandchildren and ten great grand children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Talitha Flinn; daughters, Lola May Clatt and Gina Warrell; brother, George Flinn; sister, Mary Porter; and grandson, Douglas Myers Jr. Visitation will be held 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Broadlawns Hospital.
