LAURA WRIGHT

Laura Jane Wright, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 23, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines with her loving family by her side.

Laura was born on January 15, 1935 in Clear Lake, Iowa to Jesse and Ardena Frazier (Tripp).  Laura attended and graduated from Martensdale St. Mary's in 1953, where she enjoyed playing basketball and was a majorette.

Laura worked in the cafeteria at Rice and Monroe Schools. She was an avid Bingo player and she frequented Prairie Meadows. She was an active member of First Federated Church in Des Moines.

Those left to cherish her memory include her high school sweetheart and husband of sixty-six years, James Art Wright; daughters Annette (David) Fath and Karen (Rick) Hadden; grandchildren Jennifer Staple, Melanie Schreurs, Mary Thompson, and Lindsay Schreurs; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Dwayne Frazier. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don and Dale Frazier, and infant brother, David.

Visitation will be held at 12:30 to 2 p.m., with service following at 2 p.m on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with family present to greet friends.
