LARRY LEE STARR Indianola Larry Lee Starr, 79, moved to Heaven on Thursday, May 22, 2014 after having been recently diagnosed with cancer in April. Larry was born in Newton, IA, on May 26, 1934 to Berle and Juanita Starr. He grew up in Indianola and graduated from Indianola High School. He continued his education and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan with a degree in business. Larry spent 38 years of service with Farmers Casualty Insurance Co., retiring in 1995. Survivors include his beloved wife, Shirley of 54 years; daughters, Michele Starr and LeaAnn (John) Metscher; grandchildren, Ashley, Jordan and Katie; sister, Sandy (Chuck) Goodwin; and other extended family. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was involved with his church, First Assembly of God in Indianola. He loved traveling with his wife and enjoyed watching sports, fishing and having coffee with his buddies, where they attempted to solve the world's problems. His grandchildren brought him great joy and he loved spending time with them and making memories with his family. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 26 at First Assembly of God Church in Indianola with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of life service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 27 also at the church.
