Obituary

A Funeral Mass for L. Joseph Hill, 90, who passed away April 12, 2009 at the Regency Care Center, Norwalk, IA surrounded by his family, will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 15 at Church of Assumption, Churchville, IA with burial following in the Wallace Cemetery, Wick, IA.

Joe was born August 9, 1918 to Harry and Iva Hill in Bondurant, IA. He married Lillian Pearl (Peggy) Monroe on February 21, 1941. They have a son, Phillip residing in Arizona, two grandsons, Jeff (Mickey) of Illinois and Kevin of Maryland and three great-grandchildren.

Joe was a long time member of Church of Assumption and was co-owner of Reliable Rug Cleaning Company. He served five years in World War II where he was in some of the hardest fighting on the western front during the 1944 and 1945 invasion. His interests were Warren County history and auction sales.

Proceeding in death were his wife, his parents and three brothers. Also surviving are sisters, Leopha Bell of Colorado, Honora Tovrea of Norwalk, Mary Janette Miller of Des Moines and Phyllis Desenberg of Norwalk; two brothers, Lowell Hill of Colorado and Bob Hill of Norwalk and many nieces and nephews and many friends.

There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Hospice or St. Johns Catholic Church, Norwalk.
