Kevin Duane Else, age 57, loving father of three and adoring husband to Cindy Else, passed away unexpectedly of a brain bleed on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by his family.
Kevin was born on May 23, 1964 in Monticello, Iowa to Harlan and Beverly Else. He grew up in Iowa Falls, Iowa, where he graduated from high school and found the love of his life, Cindy. They were married on October 17, 1987. They lived in Clarion, Des Moines and settled down in Indianola, where they raised their three children. Kevin worked at Beisser Lumber Company in Grimes, Iowa for many years. His Christian faith was an essential part of his life. He enjoyed helping in many areas of the church including singing, children's ministry, and construction. Some of his favorite joys were baking a pan of cinnamon rolls or Danishes, going fishing, watching science fiction movies and tinkering in the garden. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family, including playing with his four grandboys.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, Josh (Crissy Cozad) McCoy, Danielle (Jacob) Barnes, Shalene (Sam) Bedwell; grandchildren, Keagan and Logan Barnes, Harlan and Henry Bedwell; father, Harlan Else; siblings, Rev. Mark (Paula) Else, Rev. Michael (Darla) Else, Timothy (Nancy Flanagan) Else, Kathy (Brant) York; and many nieces, nephews and other family.
