Kenneth was born October 1, 1907 at Liberty Center, IA. After graduating from Liberty Center High School, he farmed in Warren and Lucas Counties until 1954 when he moved with his family to Story County where he worked for the Iowa State University Agronomy Department until his retirement in 1973.

He enjoyed listening to Jim Zabel broadcast all the "Hawks" games, gardening and wood working. He hand crafted more than 25 elegant grandmother clocks during his early retirement years, many of which are cherished by close friends, his children and grandchildren.

Kenneth is survived by Bertene, his wife of 77 years, his son Gary Barger of Nevada and his daughter, Karaly Juhl also of Nevada; and by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom he held close to his heart.

Visitation will be held immediately prior to the services from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
