Services for Katie Elizabeth Riebkes, 16, who passed away Sunday, May 22, 2005, will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 26 at the First Assembly of God Church in Indianola. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Indianola. Following the services a time for memories and fellowship will be held at the Martensdale Community Church on Highway 28 North of Martensdale.

Katie was born in Des Moines and had lived in Martensdale. She was a sophomore at Martensdale-St. Marys High School and was part of the girl's basketball, volleyball and softball teams. She had an infectious smile, loved life and was full of spunk. She cared about her family and friends and will be missed, but will never be forgotten.

Katie is survived by her parents, Craig and Lisa and sister, Jenni Ann Riebkes all of Martensdale; grandparents, Elmer and Betty Riebkes and grandmother, Imogene Emerson and the late Charles J. Emerson all of Iowa Falls; aunts and uncles, James and Darthy Emerson of Starks, LA, Pete and Judi Emerson of Iowa Falls, Becky and Kent Thompson of Lawton, Tim and Cindy Emerson of Iowa Falls and Dee Pruismann of Des Moines; as well as several cousins.

Visitation will be held 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25 at the Martensdale-St. Marys Gymnasium in Martensdale where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be given to the Martensdale-St. Marys Athletic Boosters.
