KATHRYN H. SCHOOLER Indianola Kathryn H. Schooler (Hoyman), 99, of Indianola, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014, at The Village Health Care Center in Indianola. Born June 10, 1914, in Exira, Iowa, she was the eldest child of Deana Merrick Hoyman and William Harper Hoyman. She was preceded in death by her brothers Merrick Hoyman and Robert Hoyman; and her husband of 56 years, Faye T. Schooler. She is survived by her brother, James Hoyman, of Indianola; her daughters, Jane Majuri, of San Diego, CA, and Sally (Denis) Kowalewski, of Riverside, IL; and her grandchildren, Tom Majuri, Jon Majuri, Christina Kowalewski, Joseph Kowalewski; and many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her caring concern for others both in her local community and beyond. She was supportive and giving to people wherever she was. She was for many years an American Cancer Society Reach for Recovery volunteer visitor, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Clio Club, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, and the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
