KATHERYN ELOISE WASER

Services for Katheryn E. Waser who passed away March 25, 2019 in Des Moines, Iowa were held March 29, at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola, cremation followed services. Graveside burial of cremains will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2020 in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Katheryn Eloise Waser passed on to her heavenly home with our Lord on March 25, 2019. Katheryn was born July 16, 1919 to George and Iris Dull. As a child they moved to Morrowville, Kansas where she graduated from High School. She then became a school teacher in a one room school house in the country near Washington, Kansas. While there she met her future husband Francis. They were married in Little Rock, Arkansas September 2 ^nd 1942 while he was serving in the United States Army. After that service they moved to her mother's farm near Kirkville, Iowa and later retired to an acreage near Indianola.

Katheryn was a member of First United Methodist Church of Indianola. She served as president of the Elizabeth Circle for several years. She was a member of the church choir & bell choir. She also arranged and grew flowers for the church alter for a number of years. She often searched roadside ditches for wild flowers and even used thistle blooms in bouquets. She was a long-time member of the Ackworth Garden Club and won many ribbons for her flower arrangements.

Katheryn was also an accomplished seamstress and avid quilter. She provided many quilts for new babies in the church and quilts for all her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis; sons, Dale and Kevin Waser; son-in-law, Michael Trimble. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Trimble; son, Carroll Waser; daughters-in-law, Patti Waser and Joan Waser; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to the Elizabeth Circle First United Methodist Church, 307 West Ashland Ave, Indianola, IA 50125 or the Ackworth Garden Club.
