A Mass of Christian Burial for Katherine L. Seymour, 98, who died Thursday, March 6, 2008, will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 11 at Assumption Parish Church in Churchville with burial following in the Calvary Cemetery, Churchville.

Katherine was born in rural Warren County, Iowa and had lived in Des Moines for the past 23 years.  She had previously lived in rural Prole.  She was a farm homemaker and also had worked as a communications supervisor for Mercy Hospital in Des Moines for 25 years.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and traveling to their cabin in Minnesota following her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Henry Seymour, and three sisters.  She is survived by her children, Doris Jaworski of West Des Moines, chuck (Wilma) Seymour of Prole, Karen Stanley of Grimes and Debbie (Joe) Quinn of Des Moines; 16 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3 – 8 p.m., Monday, March 10 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 5:30 – 8 p.m.  A Scripture service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Iowa Chapter.
