A Celebration of Life Service for Karen K. Miller, 78, who passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018, will be held 11 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2018 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines, IA.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the church.

Karen was born to the late Simon and Martha Burnstrom and was the last in line of four siblings; John (Dorothy) Burnstrom, Lois (Richard) Brockmeyer and Charlotte (Bob) Meyer.

Karen was a sports enthusiast.  She followed and attended many of her Grandchildren's activities of Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Cross Country, Show Choir, Band, and Horse competitions.  She was so proud of all things competition that her family participated in.  She wore her Iowa State colors proudly and as for most, March Madness was her time on earth that felt like heaven.

Karen was also an avid lover of music.  Her harmonizing during a church service told you that she held a talent in the vocal art of music.  She also held a passion for playing the Organ and for many decades she played for Sunday services throughout the Des Moines metro area.

Karen was defined by her blessed family.  Mother to John (Beth) Miller, Tom (Deb) Miller, Tim (Sara) Miller and Kristine (Pete) Lies.  She adored all of her grandchildren, Grant (Jessica) and Bryce (Taylor), Patricia, Blake, Madeline, Anna, Gavin and Garrett; Maisie and Jacob; Josie, Mikayla and Colin.  Karen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Charlotte; and sister-in-law, Dorothy.
