Obituary

KAREL ANN EICHNER Indianola A Memorial service for Karel Ann Eichner, 51, of Des Moines, who passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at home, will be held 3:30 p.m., Friday, August 21 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Karel graduated from Indianola High School and Iowa Barber College. She also attended Kings Way Bible College and DMACC. She started a support group for abused women in Warren County. Loving daughter, sister and mother, she was known as Mama Karel to many. Always ready to help, support and encourage anyone. Where ever life lead her, she was ready to share her faith and pray. Be it at Wal-Mart, a bar, a hospital room, jail, on the street or in her home. She loved to listen to music loud and sing along louder and dance. She never knew a stranger and loved hard. She loved watching her sons Ryan and Joseph play sports and could be heard yelling "put a wiggle in it"! The joy of her life was her grandson, Syrus, whom she led to the Lord when he was three years old. She took comfort in knowing both of her sons were saved and that they would spend eternity together. Survivors include her sons, Ryan Eichner of Austin, TX and Joseph Eichner of Des Moines; grandson, Syrus Eichner of Des Moines; father, Earl (Shirley) Eichner of Milo; brother, Robert (Karen) Eichner of Spirit Lake and sister, Kay Eichner of Des Moines. She also survived by her nephew Benjamin Eichner of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rachel Martens Eichner. Memorials may be given to the family in Karel's name. Online condolences may be made at www.overtonfunerals.com.
