IN LOVING MEMORY OF
K. Nadine
Johnson
November 14, 1932 – January 11, 2026
Services for K. Nadine Johnson, 93, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, who passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2026 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow services in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Nadine was born on November 14, 1932 to W. Ben and Edna (Jones) King. She was the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Indianola High School. In 1950, she married Harold Johnson and they started farming in the Spring Hill area. They had three children; Diana, Rex and Valerie. In 1961, they moved to Lucas County to continue farming until Harold's retirement in 1985. At that time, they traveled the U.S. in a motorhome, enjoying the many sights. They would winter in Apache Junction, AZ where Nadine would sing at jam sessions. Nadine and Harold sang songs, harmonizing with each other in songs like Ring of Fire, Amazing Grace and Sweet Chariot. She would also yodel in the stairwell of the farmhouse when she thought no one was listening.
After the death of Harold, she married Richard Olson in 2008. After Richard's passing, she moved to Cedar Falls, IA so she could watch her great-grandchildren's activities.
Nadine is survived by her children Rex (Debbie) Johnson and Valerie (Carrie) Johnson-Powell; grandchildren Terry (Michelle) Johnson, Ben (Amy) Johnson, Andy (Camilla) Johnson, Anthony (Elaine) Johnson-Powell; step-grandchildren, Nathan Towns and Ryan Towns; great-grandchildren Kaylee Johnson, Gage Johnson, Opal Frazier Johnson and Ayden Oxley Johnson; and good friend Carl Kittle. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Johnson and husband Richard Olson; daughter Diana Carroll; parents Ben and Edna King; three sisters and three brothers.
Memorials in memory of Nadine may be given to Cedar Valley Hospice in Waterloo, Iowa.
