Julie was born in Osceola, IA and graduated from Interstate 35 High School in Truro, IA and from Drury University in Springfield, MO.

She is survived by her parents, Denny and Peggy Phillips of Peru; sisters, Sara Phillips of Waxahachie, TX and Amy and husband Jay Upp and nephews Michael and Samuel Upp of Belton, MO; grandmothers, Mary Agan and Mary Phillips of Winterset, IA.

Visitation will be held 4 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 17 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church or Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA.
